Big fans of The Notorious.
From eeking out a living at something you are passionate about to becoming a sensation in the USA. Colin Farrell knows the feeling.
The Irish actor, and star of True Detective, was asked, by TMZ Sports, about Conor McGregor during a bout of autograph-signing in Los Angeles, on Friday.
‘He’s incredible,’ declared Farrell. ‘Phenomenal strength of character, mental strength, phenomenal drive and spirit.’
The Dubliner was not the only man singing McGregor’s praises, Statesside.
At a fan UFC Fight Night Q&A, in Chicago, CM Punk was asked for his thoughts on the interim featherweight champion.
Punk, who hopes to make his UFC debut next year, said, ‘I love Conor McGregor. Conor McGregor’s great business…that’s a guy who gets it.
‘That’s pro wrestling. That’s Muhammad Ali, and Muhammad Ali got that from Gorgeous George.’
Punk also had an interesting take on fighter’s thanking God after bouts.
‘I’m a free speech guy,’ he said. ‘That being said, if there is a God – and I’m an atheist, I don’t believe there is – I think he has better things to do than worry about what somebody’s doing for fifteen minutes in a cage.
‘I’d like to see people thank their coaches more than Jesus; I just think it’s a weird thing to do.’
