The high-stakes bettor, known as ‘Vegas Dave’, went against all received wisdom by backing Holly Holm to beat Ronda Rousey last year, and it paid off for him with a $240,000 payday.
So when he put down $77,000 on another underdog, it was probably because he knew they had a very good chance of victory.
And, true to form, the five-figure bet on Miesha Tate to dethrone Holm at the first attempt paid dividends, earning Oancea a cool $300k.
