This doesn’t sound very good at all

Controversial UFC champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones is back in the headlines after police in New Mexico announced they were ‘actively seeking’ him  for questioning in relation to an alleged hit-and-run incident.

Jones, widely regarded as the UFC’s best pound-for-pound fighter, is scheduled to defend his light-heavyweight crown against Anthony Johnson on May 23, but that fight could be in doubt after a statement from the Albuquerque police department last night regarding the accident which saw a pregnant 20-year-old woman taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The Albuquerque Police Department is actively seeking UFC Fighter Jon Jones for questioning in regards to his possible involvement in a hit-and-run accident, near the intersection of Juan Tabo and Southern, in Southeast Albuquerque early this morning, April 26, 2015.

A pregnant female in her 20s, who was the driver of a separate vehicle, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Officers attempted to contact Mr. Jones at his residence Sunday evening, but were unsuccessful. We have also reached out to his lawyer, but as of now, have not heard back.

The Albuquerque Police Department is asking Mr. Jones to please contact us as we continue to investigate.

Jones began the career overshadowed by news of a positive test for cocaine. The 27-year-old entered a drug treatment programme in January but checked out after just one day.
