Rachael Ostovich has been granted a temporary restraining order against her husband following an alleged attack which left her with serious injuries.

Ostovich, who competes in the UFC flyweight division, was hospitalised last weekend after an alleged attack by husband and fellow mixed martial artist Arnold Berdon.

TMZ reports that Ostovich filed for the restraining order on Monday after suffering a broken orbital bone along with other injuries.

The Honolulu Police Department has opened up a felony domestic violence investigation into the matter but have not released the name of the suspect and at the time of writing, no arrest has been made.

Ostovich’s temporary restraining order will expire on May 18, 2019.

The severity of Ostovich’s injuries means that she will not be able to compete against Paige VanZant in the pair’s scheduled bout on the UFC’s first ESPN show on January 19.

“A very unfortunate incident occurred Sunday night with Rachael Ostovich that ended with her suffering a fractured orbital and other injuries,” a statement from Ostovich’s management company read.

“Rachael is now home from the hospital with family and will be going back for further check ups on her orbital. The family would like to ask for some privacy as they sort through this matter. We would like to thank the UFC for all their support on this matter as well as the fans and media for your concern.”
