Conor McGregor v Dennis Siver is now the only fight on Sunday’s UFC Boston main card that hasn’t had a change-up from the event that was initially announced.
It was announced last night that promotional newcomer Ron Stallings (12-6-1NC) accepted a fight with Uriah Hall (9-4 ) on just six days notice after Hall’s opponent Louis Taylor withdrew from the bout due to a back injury.
Taylor wasn’t even the original opponent for the middleweight as it was initially announced that Hall would take on Costas Phillipou who also had to pull out after suffering an injury.
Stallings’ addition to the card comes hot on the heels of the announcement last week that Eddie Alvarez would be unable to meet Benson Henderson in the co-main event before the always-game Donald Cerrone stepped in to fight the former UFC lightweight champion.
The bout that opens the main card also faced a switch-up after Norman Parke’s original opponent Jorge Masvidal ruled himself out of action in December. Masvidal was replaced by the hard-hitting Gleison Tibau for the fight against ‘Stormin’ Norman.
We have our fingers crossed that both McGregor and Siver make it to Sunday night but, after seeing how this card has been hit with injuries so far, nothing would surprise us now.
