Now we’ve got a motherflippin’ fight card.
UFC 205 has been through the wars but, after some frantic negotiating and scrambling over the past few days, the return to New York is unmissable.
This morning arrived with the confirmation that Conor McGregor’s lightweight title shot against Eddie Alvarez at the Madison Square Garden pay-per-view event. There are now three title fights set up and four champions [McGregor holds the featherweight strap] involved.

The main card [below] is ridiculously stacked. So stacked that the likes of Rashad Evans, Frankie Edgar and Tim Kennedy are in the prelims.
- Eddie Alvarez (Lightweight champion) vs. Conor McGregor
- Tyron Woodley (Welterweight champion) vs. Stephen Thompson
- Joanna Jędrzejczyk (Straw-weight champion) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
- Donald Cerrone vs. Kelvin Gastelum
- Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington
McGregor is set to be at the Garden for this evening’s official UFC 205 press conference. Dana White will front it and all the main card fighters are set to be in attendance.
UFC.com will live stream the press conference and it will also be available on YouTube. It starts at 6pm local time [11pm Irish time].
Fight fans in New York interested in attending the event, at the MSG Theater (sic), can pick up free general admission tickets from 2pm [local time] at a dedicated UFC window. Once obtained, fans must wait until 5pm before doors are opened.
