Bad news
It was an eagerly anticipated bout, but we won’t get to see Dillishaw/Barao II on April 25. The fight has been cancelled after the champ Dillishaw suffered a ‘freak accident’ resulting in a rib injury that rules him out.
Rather than line up another fighter for Barao, the main event has been changed. Now it will be the flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Kyoji Horiguchi. Not as exciting a fight but what can we do.
Also moved up the card is the match between the returning Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Fabio Maldonado, which becomes a co-main and the clash between Abel Trujillo vs. John Makdessi moves to the main card too.
Dillashaw and Barao fought first in May last year, when Dillashaw beat Barao to take the title. They were due to rematch at UFC 177 but Barao had to pull out just before the fight with a medical issue.
Now we will have to wait a bit longer for the two to square off again.
