Conor Mc’Gregor’s Hollywood debut will feature some pretty big names in the action world.
Vin Diesel confirmed recently that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would play a role in the upcoming release xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, the sequel to the 2002 film xXx.
Twitch Film is reporting that new cast members have been announced for the secret agent/extreme sports movie, including famed Thai martial artist Tony Jaa, Jet Li, and Indian actress Deepika Padukone.
Jaa is a behemoth of the martial arts film world and is best known for his work in the Ong Bak series and recently broke into western cinema playing one of the henchmen in Fast and Furious 7, also starring Vin Diesel.
Li has been in a plethora of action flicks from the critically acclaimed and Oscar-nominated Chinese action adventure Hero to the not so-critically acclaimed Expendables franchise. He also received praise for his acting ability in the 2010 drama Ocean Heaven although it is unlikely that we’ll get to see him flex his acting chops in a xXx movie.
Last week, Diesel confirmed on his official Twitter account that Samuel L. Jackson will also be reprising his role as Operative Agent Augustus Gibbons from the first film.
