The UFC hasn’t even officially confirmed a meeting between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor at UFC 205, but the first unofficial trailer for the title fight has already arrived.
Alvarez is expected to face McGregor in a lightweight title bout after getting the better of Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 90 in July.
The proposed UFC 205 headliner seems to be the worst kept secret in mixed martial arts, with Joe Rogan all but confirming it and the entire MMA world preparing for the inevitable announcement, even if (at the time of writing) we can only file it under ‘likely’ rather than ‘nailed on’.
This explains why YouTuber TheUFCGuy has wasted no time putting everyone in the mood for one of the most hotly anticipated matchups of what’s left of 2016.
Beginning with the American’s request for a ‘gimme’ fight in the form of McGregor, it’s chock-full of tattoos, braces, laughter and mini Rocky-style montages. You know, all the stuff you deserve to see in a good UFC promo, plus functional clothing designed to ensure your trousers don’t fall down at an inopportune moment.
