Jose Aldo’s next fight might not be the eagerly-anticipated rematch with Conor McGregor.
But if the Brazilian has to go down a different route, he won’t settle for less than another title bout.
Aldo made the comments in an interview shared by FightAffect, during which he also discussed his expectations for McGregor’s superfight against Rafael Dos Anjos.
“If someone asks what I want, it is the rematch, of course,” he said.
“I don’t see another fight for me besides a title fight or a rematch.”
The comments seem to leave open the possibility of a title fight against Frankie Edgar, something which Aldo claims he was promised in the aftermath of his UFC 194 defeat.
After almost a decade of dominating the featherweight division, we’d be surprised if he didn’t get his chance.
