It looks like a feud might be developing between #2 ranked featherweight Frankie Edgar and Conor McGregor.
It seems that Edgar has had enough of the Irish UFC superstar’s constant trash-talking in the media. The American wrestler posted a subtle dig at McGregor’s expense on his Instagram account. Edgar posted a quote from the movie American Gangster and while he didn’t mention McGregor anywhere in the post, it is clearly meant as a message for a certain Irishman.
Edgar is fresh off a stunning submission victory over top featherweight Cub Swanson and could have McGregor in his sights if the poster boy of Irish MMA gets the title shot that the UFC has been hinting at. The Notorious must first dispatch of German spinning back-kick enthusiast Dennis Siver at UFC Boston in January before a bout against Aldo or Edgar can be arranged.
We are eagerly anticipating McGregor’s inevitable response.
