Sean O’Malley earns UFC contract with stunning knock-out that sent Dana White wild

Looks like the real deal

“Ohhhh, the walk-off KO. The Suga’ Show!!”

At UFC 250, Sean O’Malley’s star continued to ascend at a rapid rate when ‘Suga’ knocked out Eddie Wineland after 1:54 of the first round in their main card fight.

O’Malley was forced to sit out all of 2019 after an anti-doping violation but he is making up for lost time in 2020. What follows (below) is how the Montana native stunned Dana White, had Snoop Dogg purring and won himself a UFC contract all in the same night.

“O’Malley! O’Malley! O’Malley! Ohhhh Malley!!”

Dana White couldn’t believe it. Snoop Dogg couldn’t believe it.

Sean O’Malley believed it and he produced it.

The 22-year-old is now on the UFC’s roster after earning himself a contract with a stunning first round knock-out of Alfred Khashakyan last night.

O’Malley was 7-0 coming into the contest, which was part of White’s UFC ‘Contender’ series. He was highly charged and busy throughout but was clearly the better fighter throughout.

His finish of Khashakyan in The Ultimate Fighter was spectacular. He teed up his man with a right-left-left combo and, as Khashakyan rebounded off the fence, he doled out a fearsome right that ended the contest.

White, the UFC president, was out of his seat as Snopp Dogg, on fight commentary, yelled, “Give that kid a contract!”

At the conclusion of the night’s five fights, White commented:

“I’m looking for exciting. I’m looking for flashly. I’m looking for someone who has that thing.

“Sean O’Malley has that thing.”

His style was, at times, reminiscent of the UFC’s lightweight champion – a man he follows closely.

The Arizona native fights at bantamweight and that is one division that could do with some X-factor talent. Putting ‘Sugar’ inside an Octagon with current 135lbs champion Cody Garbrandt would certainly produce sparks.

He would definitely have to go through some established stars before he can start plotting for that, however.
