Pure class.
Bryan Barberena may have wanted to shout about proving a few people wrong after defeating UFC wonderkid Sage Northcutt on Saturday night, but instead his reaction was all class.
Barberena (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) derailed the Northcutt hype train with an arm triangle that led to a second-round submission.
But rather than boast his success over the hotly-tipped 19-year-old, Barberena followed up with some kind words of consolation.
@sagenorthcutt thanks for the fight.Keep your head up u have a bright future!Keep training hard&learning, this is just a bump in the road.

It was a very different reaction to the opinions shared on Twitter, which didn’t quite hold the same sympathy for Northcutt after his first professional loss.
Still, Barberena’s encouraging words must have been nice to hear.
