Ronda Rousey will have plenty of time to contemplate her shock Saturday night loss at UFC 193.
The UFC’s medical suspension list after the weekend’s event in Melbourne has been released and it appears Rowdy is looking at an initial six months out of the sport.
It was feared that the bantamweight had broken her jaw after Holly Holm’s devastating strike to her neck, but it was later confirmed that the worst damage done to Rousey was a split lip.
However the UFC authorities feel that the the former champion took quite a beating and is banned for 180 days, pending a negative CT scan on any possible head injuries.
If there is any damage found then she will be ruled out of action until May of next year while Holm was given a seven-day suspension for the standard precautionary reasons.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk broke her right hand and she is also ruled out for six months as is her opponent Valerie Letourneau, who took a record amount of punishment in defeat to the champion on Saturday night.

The other fighters to receive 180 day suspensions were Steven Kennedy, Jared Rosholt and Robert Whittaker.
One line of thinking expounded is that Rousey will use her prolonged break from UFC to concentrate on her fledgling movie career. She is expected to star in a biopic and a remake of the 1980s action film “Roadhouse”.
