Serious cash

Rarely, if ever do you see UFC fighters making rich lists, but the women’s bantamweight champion has managed to do just that.

Forbes recently revealed the top 10 highest female athletes of 2015, a list which included Ronda Rousey, who banked $6.5 million, and a whole lot of tennis players.

According to the magazine, Rousey banked a cool $6.5m in fight pay and endorsements from June 2014 to June 2015, which left her at a respectable No 8 on the list.

Rousey made $3 million in fight purses and $3.5 million in endorsements for representing sponsorships such as Reebok and Metro PCS during that period.

But she was still some way behind tennis star Maria Sharapova, who came in at No 1 earning $29.2 million, while Serena Williams finished second netting $24.6 million.

The remarkable thing about Rousey’s appearance on the list is that she was only inside the Octagon twice during that 12-month period, which amounted to 30 seconds of fighting.

She scored a phenomenal 16-second knock out against Alexis Davis at UFC 175 and followed that up with a lightning quick 14-second submission of Cat Zingano  atUFC 184.

Rousey also received income from her cameo appearances in the movies “The Expendables 3,” “Fast and Furious 7″ and “Entourage.”
