The hands of the UFC’s top brass must be killing them so tightly are they crossing their fingers.
That’s because the California State Athletic Commission confirmed that the UFC 184 headliners will both have provided urine tests to the commission by this evening.
Dana White and Co. will have knots in their stomach as they pray for Zingano, and particularly their women’s bantamweight champion Rousey, to test clean.
The tests come in the wake of a string of failed tests among UFC’s biggest names with fighters Anderson Silva and Hector Lombard being found to have tested positive for PEDs while Jon Jones and Nick Diaz have both come up with traces of cocaine and marijuana metabolites respectively.
And the commission assured MMAFighting that they would have the samples analysed before the pair of bantamweights take to the octagon later this month.
That promise comes after the MMA community was left appalled that both Jon Jones and Anderson Silva had both provided their samples weeks in advance of their fights against Daniel Cormier and Nick Diaz respectively with the results not being released until after they had already fought.
As MMA fans, lets hope Rousey and Zingano don’t exacerbate matters.
