Conor McGregor isn’t even fighting this week and he is still the main attraction.
The Dubliner is likely to be in the crowd for the final event of the season at this weekend’s UFC on FOX event; which is of course headlined by the lightweight title fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Donald Cerrone.
McGregor is not even a wet week as the featherweight UFC champion, but he’s already spoken about holding two belts at the same time and moving up to lightweight.
Dos Anjos is the current belt holder, and speaking to UFC on Fox 17Â the champion would welcome the Irishman to the division
“My focus this weekend is 100% on Cerrone. After that if he wants to come and fight in the lightweight division, I will be here. I will be here with my belt and if he wants my belt then he is going to have to beat me. My focus is now on Cerrone but if we wants to after that I would be happy to welcome him.”
The champion was an interested observer of last week’s UFC 194 showdown in Las Vegas, and he admits that the Irishman was impressive in his 13-second victory over Jose Aldo,
“It was a little sad to see a guy like Jose Aldo, 10 years undefeated in that situation. But I think Conor did great, he did great and he caught Aldo with a left hook right on the jaw. But if he wants to come, I will be here.”
