The featherweight title fight between McGregor and Jose Aldo has been thrown into jeopardy after the champion sustained a serious rib injury and although the UFC have yet to confirm Aldo's withdrawal from the Vegas fight, clearance to fight in 16 days will be unlikely if his rib is broken.
As rumours abound that replacements such as Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes are being sought to fight McGregor and the hopeful among us pray that Aldo is allowed to fight, there remains the distinct possibility that McGregor does not feature at all at the July 11 event.
Fuel has been added to this hypothetical fire by the fact that promotional posters have been altered to highlight the previous co-main event which is a welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald.
