Well, no one can accuse Jose Aldo of ducking McGregor anyway.
The UFC confirmed this week that Aldo has pulled out of his grudge match with Conor McGregor due to a rib injury.
Reports surfaced of Aldo’s rib injury last week, which prompted the UFC to have number one contender Chad Mendes waiting in the wings to step in for Scarface should he be unable to compete.
With Aldo out, the Notorious will take on Chad Mendes for the interim belt at UFC 189 on July 11th.
Just in case anyone had the temerity to accuse the undisputed featherweight champion of ducking McGregor, Aldo has provided X-Rays from his physician which prove that he has fractured his rib.
Judging by the scans, it was a painful one.
