While we won’t get to see any of the action until September, Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber have gotten their first glimpse of the fighters with whom they’ll be working on TUF 22.
Last week, the UFC confirmed their plans for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter and revealed that McGregor would coach a European team that would compete against Faber’s Team U.S.A.
McGregor posted a picture of the pair flanking UFC president Dana White as they all watched 16 pairs of lightweights fight for the chance to get into The Ultimate Fighter house in Las Vegas.

If this season follows the usual TUF format, the 16 victors will then compete against one another each week in an elimination process until two fighters remain.

The UFC tried a similar concept in 2009 when Michael Bisping coached a U.K. team that took on Dan Henderson’s Team U.S.A, a season which the Brits took comfortably as James Wilks and Ross Pearson won in their respective weight classes.
The trash-talk between Faber and McGregor is something that could very well revive The Ultimate Fighter as they seem to have a genuine hatred for one another, something that was highlighted ahead of the UFC 189 weigh-ins when the pair clashed backstage.

September 9th can’t come quick enough.
