Who to believe?
Reigning Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks has claimed that he was sucker-punched by fellow fighters Patricio and Patricky Freire, more commonly known as the Pitbull Brothers.
Brooks had recently threatened Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Freire after Pitbull mocked Brooks’ position on Friday night’s Bellator 145 card.
But it was apparently the Brazilians who threw the first slaps when they came to face in St. Louis on Wednesday afternoon.
Pitbull brothers showed me what cowards they are. They jumped me while I was on the phone with my mom.

Punch me while I'm being held back by your people. Cowards

I've never had to sucker punch or jump anyone I held things on my own but these cowards aren't built like real men

I'm still pretty and still focused on my fight even though these cowards jumped me. We have video

Brooks also posted a picture of a bloodied t-shirt but has since deleted the photograph.
They have a different account of what went down, though.
Will Brooks is a liar. He hit Patricky first and came at me, I went after him too and my first punch landed. We were separated.

Then he came again, I knocked him down. He tried to take me down, we were separated again and he started calling us cowards.

He was a man of his word and faced the consequences. Now act like a man and tell the truth. pic.twitter.com/duGEbX9jRK

Brooks is slated to defend his belt against Marcin Held on Friday night before Patricio Freire takes on Daniel Straus so it will be interesting to see what, if anything, Scott Coker does in the coming days or if either fighter has sustained injuries in the scrap.
