It was fun while it lasted.
And with that short statement, Paul Redmond has confirmed fears over his future within the UFC as the Dublin man has confirmed his short time with the organisation is over for the time being.
Redmond only made his UFC debut at an event in Sweden in January having been given two weeks’ notice to make weight for a fight at featherweight.
The Dubliner was beaten by Mirsad Bektic, and also lost his second outing to Robert Whiteford in Glasgow in July, after an opening round TKO.
Redmond wasn’t part of the most recent UFC Dublin event and reports indicated that he was about to be cut by the UFC.
And it seems that news is true this afternoon as Redmond tweeted this afternoon
Ah well, was fun while it lasted….
