Or early hours of this morning, if you were up and tuned in.
UFC Saskatoon was ticking along nicely before it’s main event bout between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.
The undercard had thrown up some decent contests, controversial decisions and a superb Frankie Perez finish so hopes were high that the final fight would make the 5am viewing [Irish time] worth it.
This gonna be a cracker! 😊

Unfortunately, Blessed won the bout after Oliveira dropped to the mat and clutched his injured shoulder after about 60 seconds of action.
Oliveira looked to have injured his shoulder off the cage as he was attempting a take-down.
Glad I stayed up until 5am for that 😢 pic.twitter.com/XBoVP7gfrv

Holloway’s win, however, sees him continue his impressive run of form ever since Conor McGregor beat him by decision back in 2013.
In fact, his low-key win sees the young MMA star create a UFC record.
Max Holloway, 23, is the youngest fighter in UFC history to reach 10 wins inside the octagon. Impressive.

At the post-event conference, Holloway declared he would fight McGregor ‘any day of the week’.
He commented, ‘Now, I don’t have a fight, I can talk how I feel, you know? I’ll fight [McGregor] any day of the week.
‘You know, UFC could have called me up for [UFC 189 to replace Aldo against McGregor] and I would’ve took it. They didn’t; they chose Chad [Mendes].
‘I’d love to fight him. You want to talk money — Holloway vs. McGregor II, you’ve got money with that fight.’
Just in case the UFC reject that proposal, Holloway had another.
‘Let’s get UFC to Hawaii,’ he said. ‘Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar in a stadium, it would be huge.’
