Rodrigo “Big Nog” Nogueira will join the cast of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 after Anderson Silva is removed from coaching role
The Nevada State Athletic Commission, which regulates the reality TV show exhibition fights filmed in Las Vegas, requested that Silva step down from taking part in the show. This was a direct result of the Spider failing a pre-fight drugs test before UFC 183, in which he tested positive for steroid metabolites. The former UFC middleweight champion received a temporary suspension because of the results.
The series was originally supposed to feature Silva and former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua as head coaches. Rua will remain as a coach while former Pride heavyweight champion Nogueira will take up the role as the other coach.
