Nick Diaz, over the years, has been about as reliable as a Brazilian MMA judge and he’s been up to his old tricks again this week.
The original bad-boy of the UFC didn’t show up for the UFC open workouts yesterday as he arrived in Las Vegas later than expected ahead of his middleweight meeting with former 185lb kingpin Anderson Silva on Saturday.
Diaz (26-9, 1NC) has been in hot water before for being absent for media commitments ahead of his bouts and the Stockton fighter clearly hasn’t learned his lesson.
UFC Vice President of Public Relations Dave Sholler confirmed that Diaz didn’t board the flight which he was supposed to and would not be in attendance.
Meanwhile his opponent, Anderson Silva, revealed that he believed the no-show of Diaz was unfair on the UFC fans.
“The fans are the ones that missed out,” Silva said after his open workout. “That’s unfortunate, but … he missed his flight or whatever he’s got going on. It’s just unfortunate for the fans.”
UFC president Dana White confirmed that Diaz did eventually arrive in Las Vegas but didn’t announce any punitive measures he would take against the former welterweight contender.

Stay tuned MMA fans, we don’t anticipate this being the first instance of Diaz being bold this week.
