Neil Seery booked in for toughest test of his UFC career yet

Massive challenge

Patrick McCarry

This could be the making or breaking of ‘Two Tap’.

Neil Seery has got his dance card marked.

The Dubliner has been confirmed, this morning, to fight at UFC Fight Night: Overeem v Arlovski.

Seery will face the number six ranked flyweight Kyoji Horiguchi [16-2] at the May event in Rotterdam.

The fight will mark the toughest test Seery has faced his his 2014 debut with the promotion.

Horiguchi, who has a strong wrestling and karate pedigree, was defeated by flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson at the main event of UFC 186 in April 2015. He since defeated Chico Camus by unaminous decision, last September.

Seery [27-11-0 MMA, 3-2-0 UFC] lost to Louis Smolka at UFC 189 but rebounded with a submission win over John Delos Reyes at last year’s UFC Dublin.

Defeating Horiguchi would hurtle the 36-year-old Team Ryano fighter up the flyweight rankings.
