There’s no fight scheduled but that’s not putting a stop to any of the trash talk between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.
On Monday, McGregor let rip with a disparaging series of tweets in which he was more vocal than he’s been since his submission defeat to Diaz at UFC 196.
‘The Notorious’ pulled no punches as he insisted he would “school” Diaz in a rematch, while cricitising Diaz’s cardio, top game as well as his”excuses.”
I love it! Adapt and overcome.
I am coming in light and lean for my rematch and I will school this boy to the bell. https://t.co/MjEwxokIYK— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
On the floor he was swept and controlled.

I respect the endurance athlete. A game of will.
But those who simply take part, will always be taken over. https://t.co/bysnazDaAT— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 2, 2016
He has made more excuses for the first 8 minutes of our fight than I have made for the last 2 minutes of our fight. https://t.co/pukpqnF1YJ

For all of McGregor’s verbosity, Diaz responded in typically succinct fashion as he mocked McGregor for tapping out to the second-round rear naked choke in March with one brutal hashtag reply.

It’s not looking like this pair are going to clash at July’s UFC 200 but here’s hoping that the rematch happens sooner rather than later.
