We don’t think Nate Diaz will be making the Sunday morning Jiu-Jitsu class this time out.
The 30-year-old stunned the fight world with a second round submission victory over Conor McGregor, last night.
Diaz received $500,000 straight up for accepting the welterweight fight on 11 days’ notice. Added to that, he also takes home $50,000 for Fight of the Night and $100,000 for Performance of the Night, an honour he shared with new women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate.
This should ensure that Diaz is kept in good stead for a while.
However, as soon as the post-fight media duties were over, Diaz posted a great picture of some of the Jiu-Jitsu pupils he often teaches on Sunday mornings for extra cash. Accompanying the image was #myteam.
These were the same mites that inspired Conor McGregor’s comment ‘He makes gang signs with the right hand and animal balloons with the left’.
Extra fuel for Diaz as he prepared for the biggest fight of his life.
