Nate Diaz isn’t exactly a big fan of CM Punk’s UFC move

'F*** him, f*** the whole situation'

The arrival of Phil Brooks continues to cause waves

There is no doubt that the week in MMA news has been dominated by CM Punk’s arrival in the UFC. Since the news broke all sorts of reactions have been expressed, by fans and fighters alike, and now Nate Diaz has had his say.

Diaz, who fights Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on FOX 13 on Saturday, was asked about the wrestler’s arrival at a press conference yesterday and he didn’t mince his words.

“I don’t dig it,” Diaz said. “He has got no fights. I know he’s a big draw. I looked him up. Everyone’s going to buy tickets. It’s going to be great for the venue and the UFC, but at the same time, it downgrades all the fighters.”

“He might do great, but why does he get a chance? He’s an amateur. You’re going to put an amateur in there with pros? That makes us all amateurs, so I think it’s ridiculous. As far as I’m concerned, f*** him, f*** the whole situation. Anybody who takes that fight is tripping.”

The lightweight goes on to say that he wouldn’t be allowed play in the NBA if he felt like it as no team would pay him as an amateur so he doesn’t think that Brooks should get to walk into the Octagon.

“I don’t think you should just let some millionaire WWE guy just come on over and play a little game, like have fun with his career. I’m over here busting my ass, fighting for 10 years and doing my thing and having a serious job that I have to do for this. And this guy is going to come over and probably get paid more than everyone in the room.”
