All week long Nate Diaz has been angling for the UFC to make his fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC230 for the first ever 165-pound title.
Poirier followed his MSG opponents sentiment by also calling for the bout to made a 5-round title fight.

Things came to a head yesterday when Nate Diaz drummed up speculation that the fight was now cancelled via twitter, stating
he will be back next year. Seemingly due to the UFC's refusal to meet their demands.

Now, Ben Askren has stepped forward and called out the Stockton fighter. Askren claims that nobody should fear a fighter who has gone 6-6 in his last 12 fight, while also poking fun at Diaz's physique.. ouch!

MMA fans will be well aware of Ben Askren. The American is viewed by many as one of the best welterweights of all time, and the best fighter to have never fought under the UFC banner.
A match between the undefeated Askren and pound-for-pound great GSP has been touted on several occasions, but never came to fruition.
Askren retired after his most recent ONE championship bout, but did state earlier this year that he would return for the right match-up.
Maybe, this is his way of trying to set up a super-fight with Diaz, one that will have MMA fans mouths watering.
For now, no confirmation has been made as to whether Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirer has been cancelled, or whether it will be for the 165-pound title.
All we do know is that, UFC230 in Madison Square Garden is still without a main event.
