Another Gabi Garcia fight, another No Contest.
July has been a memorable month for Gabi Garcia… for all the wrong reasons.
The 10x Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion began the month with a 4-0 professional record in MMA. After completing two bouts, well, her record has remained unchanged.
It all began with that No Contest over veteran Japanese fighter Megumi Yabushita. Garcia was well on her way to demolishing Yabushita, who was 14 years older and 100 plus pounds lighter than the heavyweight, until she landed an illegal soccer kick that ended the contest early.

Her second bout of the month came at the weekend against former boxer Oksana Gagloeva, who was making her professional MMA debut.
That bout also ended in a very unsatisfying manner with Garcia accidentally poking her opponent’s eye in opening exchange. The 24-year-old Russian was not able to recover from taking Garcia’s muscular fingers to the eyeball and the fight was called off as a No Contest.

The card wasn’t a total waste though. n the main event, former UFC star Kyoji Horiguchi impressed with an 89-second knockout of Hideo Tokoro in a bantamweight tournament.
The man who took Demetrious Johnson to the fifth round improved his record to 20-2 with the highlight reel victory.
