Miesha Tate is officially the new baddest woman on the planet.
Tate shocked the world by dethroning Holly Holm in her first title defence at UFC 196. “Cupcake” was handed her first professional loss after being rendered unconscious via rear-naked choke in the fifth round.
Holm was having the better of the exchanges on the feet for most of the fight but ran into trouble when she was taken down in the second. Tate dominated her from the top position for the entirety of the round and almost locked in a submission, but it was well defended by Holm.
The Preacher’s Daughter dominated the standup exchanges for the next couple of rounds but Tate came out wiuth fire in her belly in the final stanza and got the finish.
