Conor McGregor has said that Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father Abdulmanap cowers behind fake respect.
McGregor will return to the octagon for the first time since November 2016 to face Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in Las Vegas as the Dubliner looks to reclaim his Lightweight belt.
The 30-year-old was stripped of both his Featherweight and Lightweight straps for inactivity but he will return to the cage in October after reaching an agreement with the UFC earlier this month.

McGregor wrote in a post on his Instagram:
“@abdulmanap.nurmagomedov I can see you.
Cowering behind fake respect. Just like your middle child.
A quivering coward.”
UFC President Dana White believes the bout will be the biggest fight in the promotion’s history and predicts it will smash the UFC’s all-time pay-per-view record of 1.6 million buys for UFC 202.
“We’re looking at two million pay-per-view buys,” UFC President Dana White told Aaron Bronsteter at TSN Sports.
“There was really no problems putting this fight together. It’s what makes Conor McGregor such an international superstar. This guy fights anybody, anywhere, any time.
“After a two-year layoff, he comes right out of the gate and wants Khabib and Khabib, who’s undefeated and obviously destroyed everybody in front of him, wants this fight now and wants to defend his title against Conor McGregor.”
