Knockout fans, mark July 7 in your calendars as two of MMA’s hardest hitters have agreed to collide

Big Country vs. The Black Beast

Will it last a minute?

The mammoth heavyweight clash scheduled for international fight week will essentially boil down to whose right fist lands first as two of the heaviest hitters in MMA history will come face-to-face on July 7.

Roy Nelson and Derrick Lewis seems like a match made in heaven for fight fans and, luckily, both are in the business of giving the people what they want as they’ve signed on the dotted line to compete on the main card of UFC Fight Night 90.

Nelson vs. Lewis will be one of the most anticipated bouts on the card which is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Eddie Alvarez and also features two other scraps at 155 lbs – Joe Duffy vs. Mitch Clark and John Makdessi vs. Mehdi Baghdad

Lewis is less than three weeks removed from his stellar first round knockout of UFC legend Gabriel Gonzaga in Croatia, a victory that gave him the first three-fight win streak of his UFC career, with all three of those wins coming by knockout.

‘The Black Beast’ is one of the most explosive punchers in the heavyweight division and enjoys a 93% knockout rate in his 15 professional victories.

He comes up against the wily veteran Roy Nelson whose proclivity for robbing opponents’ consciousness has waned somewhat in recent years.

‘Big Country’ broke his three fight losing streak with a decision victory over Jared Rosholt in February but he’ll be keen to get back to his knockout ways.

After winning The Ultimate Fighter Season 10, Nelson’s power has stopped some of the heavyweight division’s biggest names with Mirko Cro Cop, Big Nog and Matt Mitrione all faltering against the right hand from hell.

All we need is Mark Hunt to jump in to make this a triple threat match and we’ve got the greatest fight in MMA history.
