UFC on Fox cards might not always have the same star power as some of the promotion’s pay-per-view events, but they have produced some very memorable moments in the past.
Ever since the UFC’s partnership with Fox got underway in 2011 with a card headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez, we’ve been treated to some truly historic bouts.
Title fights like Benson Henderson vs. Nate Diaz, Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson and TJ Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao II have all been contested on Fox while the network has also seen more recent stellar bouts like Rafael dos Anjos’ dismantling of Donald Cerrone in December and ‘Rumble’ Johnson’s quick knockout of Ryan Bader at the start of this year.
And the upcoming UFC on Fox 20 already has some intriguing bouts lined up, with the main event yet to be confirmed.
Among those taking part is Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira, who has not fought since losing to the other Cowboy by submission at UFC Pittsburgh.
Oliveira will take on 9-3 fighter James Moontasri at welterweight, one of three fights at 170 lbs currently on the bill.
The other two involve Russia’s Alexander Yakovlev against Ryan LaFlare and the last man beaten by Yakovlev – George Sullivan – up against Hector Urbina.
Only one other fight has been confirmed at the time of writing, with Dmitry Smolyakov, another Russian, making his UFC bow against Brazil’s Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira.
UFC on Fox 20 will take place in Chicago on July 23.
