Jose Aldo’s coach warns Conor McGregor not to touch the champ on media tour

Uh vai morrer

It appears that Conor McGregor’s antics are starting to get under Jose Aldo’s skin.

Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo are currently on an unprecedented 10-city media tour to promote the title fight on at UFC 189 on July 11.

Unsurprisingly, McGregor already started the mind games on the first stop in Rio. The Notorious engaged in antics such as throwing darts at photo of the featherweight champion and repeatedly asking the Brazilian to “spit-shine his belt” to try to rile “Scarface” up.

It seems that Aldo’s camp are a little bit concerned about McGregor’s behaviour so far on the tour. Dana White has received a warning from Aldo’s head coach, saying that he can’t allow Conor McGregor to get involved in a physical altercation, or even engage in any physical contact with his fighter while doing the media obligations.

(Aldo head coach) Andre Pederneiras told me – he’s not joking, he’s dead serious – that I better make sure that Conor McGregor does not touch Jose Aldo once during this entire tour.

The level of disrespect that’s coming out of (McGregor’s) mouth will not be followed by the level of disrespect by him being touched.

Uncle Dana admitted that he might have his hands full trying to keep the two fighters separated from each other during the tour, lest he have another Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier-style brawl to deal with.

I better sleep, eat my Wheaties and be ready on this trip to keep these two from touching each other, which I’m very conscious of.

Despite being a bit nervous that tempers could boil over during the remainder of the tour, White affirmed that he was extremely excited about the event. He vowed that it will be the biggest spectacle the 145 lb division has ever seen.

It’s going to fun. It’s going to be interesting, and I can’t wait for that fight. It’s going to be the biggest featherweight fight ever.
