Aldo has set the record straight over that alleged altercation with Conor McGregor.
Last week, Dana White claimed that all his fears about Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo coming to blows on the UFC 189 world tour had come true.
White said that McGregor hit the Brazilian backstage at a Tour event and it escalated into a full-on argument.
“(A producer was) trying to put Conor McGregor in a seat behind [Aldo] and Conor McGregor reached over and slapped Aldo’s back, and now Aldo is crazy and doesn’t want to do most the stuff we have to do today. It’s been fun.”
However, according to Aldo, White didn’t see how the whole thing played out. The UFC featherweight champ confessed that the Notorious didn’t actually slap him, but he did do something else to rile him up.
“We went to a studio early in the morning for a live show, and we already stared at each other as soon as (McGregor) arrived,”
“I was sitting in the couch with Dana, and he sit behind me. He pulled my jacket, so I immediately stood up. Dana turned, separated us and apologised. There was no slap. He pulled my jacket. That’s what happened. It looks like Dana said that he slapped me, but he didn’t even see it.”
There you have it, the actual story is a lot less dramatic than the fabricated one. McGregor just gave his jacket a tug, and White assumed the worst.
This whole World Tour must be really stressing poor Uncle Dana out.
