Tell Conor, he’s coming.
Jose Aldo looked liked his old dominant self in his unanimous decision victory over elite 145 lb star Frankie Edgar at UFC 200.
Aldo put on a masterclass of clinical striking mixed with excellent takedown to outpoint the Answer over five rounds and claim the interim featherweight belt. The result sets up a sequel fight with Conor McGregor nicely, with the Notorious  dealing with some unfinished business at 170 first, as he tries to seek retribution against Nate Diaz at UFC 202.
After the gold strap was fitted around his waist, Aldo immediately called out the Notorious. This came as no surprise as Aldo has been very open about how obsessed he is with trying to get his revenge for that 13-second knockout at UFC 194.

Jose Aldo is a champion again, but according to his own logic, he’s only really added a toy to his collection with his victory at UFC 200.
If you cast your minds way, way back to UFC 189, when Aldo pulled out with a rib injury and Chad Mendes came in on short notice to face McGregor for the interim title, the Brazilian had some pretty negative things to say about the significance of the belt.
“If he beats Chad Mendes, the only thing he will have is a toy belt to show his drunk friends in his country’s bars, because that’s what an interim belt represents to me: a toy. I am the champion.”
Ouch.
Well that sort of takes the shine off the interim strap wrapped around his waist.
