Jose Aldo sounds desperate for a rematch

Here’s what we’ve all been waiting for – Jose Aldo’s response to Conor McGregor’s response to Aldo’s response to UFC 196’s main event.

The former featherweight champion seemingly didn’t take too kindly to being likened to a vagina after enjoying Conor McGregor’s submission loss to Nate Diaz.

Aldo was adamant to Sportv that he did not jump for joy when Diaz forced the tap from the Notorious in the second round, but claimed that his countrymen were delighted with the outcome. (translation via Bloody Elbow)

“I don’t really care. I didn’t celebrate when he lost. It means nothing to me, they are two fighters constantly cursing at each other. People cheered, I’m happy for that. I think it was a moment of joy for Brazilians. He was slapped in the face. He looked like a kid getting slapped.”

Aldo, who was knocked out in just 13 seconds by McGregor at UFC 194, then attacked the Dubliner’s skill-set. He claimed that the loss proved McGregor has no power in his hands, which he described using a very odd insult.

“Some fighters have a lot of power, others don’t. He has soap hands. Of course anybody will go down with a punch to the chin. Even if a little kid hits you. He has soap hands. He is always punching and nobody ever felt his punches. With me, they put a skateboard there for me to slip.”

The pillow punching prowess of Conor “Hands of Soap” McGregor isn’t the only flaw the Brazilian sees in McGregor’s game.

McGregor was rocked by a big left in the second and after eating more head shots, he shot in for the takedown which Diaz stuffed with ease. From there, Diaz was able to take his back and lock in the rear-naked choke to force the tap.

Aldo reckons the way the fight ended showed that the Dubliner doesn’t have heart when the going gets tough.

“He couldn’t take it anymore. He wanted out. He’s a wuss. He fell down and quit right away.”

In other words, Aldo wants a rematch.
