He also wants to be friends (sort of)

One more fight…

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier has to be regarded as one of the best rivalries in UFC history.

Jones won both fights with the second ending any debate as to who is the better fighter. It was a serious knockout from Jones.

The 30-year-old regained his UFC light heavyweight title after defeating Cormier and is now top of the pile on the pound for pound fighter list.

Speaking to TMZ Sport, Jones was asked if there was a possibility of another fight and he said:

“I would assume it is the end of it but most people in the light heavyweight division aren’t beating Daniel Cormier.”

Cormier has only lost twice in his MMA career and both times were to Jones so it is reasonable to expect that he could find himself as the number one contender in the near future.

The pair had one of the most heated rivalries in the UFC but at the end of it all Jones was adamant is showing his respect for ‘DC’ and continued in that vein.

“I would definitely like to have a respectful relationship with Cormier, it would be great to eventually support each other’s causes like charity events. Maybe do an interview together talking about one of the biggest rivalries in combat sports history,” Jones said.

“That’s my plan, I don’t think he feels the same way.”
