Jon Jones is set to receive his punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
MMA Fighting report that the UFC light heavyweight great will receive a one-year suspension which will run concurrently to the suspension he is currently serving that was enforced by the United States Anti-Doping Agency. Both suspensions stem from the same failed drug test which was administered on June 16.
Both suspensions will also be served retroactive to July 6, the date on which the test results were revealed.
USADA, the UFC’s official anti-doping partner, handed Jones the maximum penalty in November after he tested positive for two oestregen blockers in the run-up to UFC 200, which Jones attributes to a tainted sexual enhancer he received from a teammate.

Jones became the first fighter in UFC history to appeal a USADA decision but the independent arbitration panel tasked with presiding over the case chose to enforce the one-year suspension.
And the NAC have followed suit by handing ‘Bones’ an identical ban after reaching an agreement with the fighter but, according to the report, they will not fine the former UFC light heavyweight champion.
The 29-year-old is expected to be in contact with the commission alongside his legal representatives next week when the punishment will be formally issued.
Jones insists that he will be returning to the Octagon next July, when both suspensions are up, but he will make his professional grappling debut this weekend when he comes up against MMA legend Dan Henderson at Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground promotion.
