He doesn't think Siver stands a chance

We caught up with the SBG head coach before he was shipped off to Boston

Kavanagh seemed to be fully confident that Conor McGregor would deliver on his promise of knocking out Dennis Siver in the opening round at UFC Fight Night 59.

He remarked that McGregor’s elite stand-up game and taller frame make him a nightmare match up for the German. He hinted that Siver would be completely outclassed against McGregor, and predicted a very easy night’s work for the Dubliner.

I think Siver’s going to get hit early and start making some bad mistakes.

Kavanagh doesn’t envisage Siver reacting too well to McGregor’s superior striking and explained how he thinks this will work in his fighter’s favour. He also told us his prediction of the time and method of victory for the Notorious.

I think he’s going to overthrow shots, lean in too much and I’m going to go… head kick, 1:47.

There you have it, both coach and fighter think it’s going to be a first-round knockout win, within the opening two minutes.
