With far too many bad weight cuts under her belt, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has finally made a change.
Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has left her nutrition team Perfecting Athletes.
The Polish powerhouse claims that a botched weight cut was responsible for her title fight loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC 217 which has prompted her to cut ties with the team. Jedrzejczyk was undefeated in professional MMA heading into the bout but was soundly beaten via ferocious first-round knockout, tapping to strikes after Namajunas overwhelmed her on the ground.
She was the last fighter on the card to weigh in. With only a minute or two before the deadline passed, Jedrzejczyk tipped the scales at championship weight, 115 lbs on the button.

Jedrzejczyk’s announcement came very quickly after previously unseen footage of one of her weight cuts began doing the rounds online. The footage was taken prior to her first defence of the 115 lb strap against Jessica Penne in 2015.
The clip shows her disorientated and rambling while being covered in towels before cutting to her shrieking in agony in the bath.
Jedrzejczyk wasn’t with Perfecting Athletes while she was making this cut. She went on to defeat Penne via dominant third round TKO, the only victorious finish of her strawweight title reign.

In the description of the video, it is claimed that UFC PR requested it to be taken down when it was originally uploaded in 2015.
