Awful news for anyone hoping to see James Gallagher headline Bellator Dublin

The Strabanimal is out!

An Irishman will headline Bellator Dublin in November, but his name won’t be James Gallagher.

SBG starlet James Gallagher was set for an epic homecoming in November. One month shy of a year after making his promotional debut in the 3Arena, ‘The Strabanimal’ was set to return to the Dublin stadium as the headline act.

After amassing an impressive seven-fight undefeated streak with six finishes, everything was falling into place nicely for his heroes return against Jeremiah Labiano.

Unfortunately, as first reported by MMAFighting, Gallagher won’t be competing in Bellator 187’s main event as he has suffered a knee injury in training. Instead, Gallagher’s rival AJ McKee has been pushed up to the headliner to face SBG fighter Brian Moore.

Belfast’s Decky Dalton, who was originally matched up with McKee, will now fight Andre Goncalves, who was Moore’s original opponent. Labiano has been removed from the card entirely and will instead fight Noad Lahat in the following week at Bellator 188 in Israel.
