Anderson Silva has his say on Jose Aldo v Conor McGregor and is pulling for the champion

"Hit him a lot, Aldo. Please, do it."

The best fighter ever to step foot in the octagon is making no secret about who he will be rooting for when Conor McGregor meets Jose Aldo for the featherweight title.

Anderson Silva (33-6) backed the 145lb champion in everything he’s said about McGregor thus far.

UFC 162: Press Conference

“Aldo said what we needed to hear,” Silva told Globo. “He’s the king, Chad Mendes is the prince and McGregor is the joker. Enough said. I think that McGregor is a cool guy but Aldo is a lot cooler.

“Aldo is my brother until I die. Hit him a lot, Aldo. Please, do it. Hit him a lot.”

It’s unsurprising that “The Spider” will be supporting Aldo due to the fact that they’re both Brazilian but Silva has also never been a fan of trash-talkers, as we know from the build-up to his fights against Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

And the former middleweight kingpin, who makes his long-awaited return to fighting when he faces Nick Diaz this Saturday, is confident in the chances of his fellow countryman beating “The Notorious”.

Conor McGregor Lamas

“It’s impossible to compare them,” said Silva. “McGregor has no condition of facing Aldo. How would he do this? How? Do you think that this boy will bear what Mendes could? Never! I would run from Aldo if he were at my weight class. I would not be silly when fighting him.”
