Some big names facing hefty medical suspensions following UFC 200, including headliner Miesha Tate.
Amanda Nunes really did a number on Cupcake in her one-round annihilation that saw he claim the coveted golden strap.
Before forcing the tap with the rear-naked choke, Nunes shattered Tate’s nose with strikes. According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s list of medical suspensions, which has been obtained by MMA Junkie, the injury could see her sidelined for up to six months.

Tate isn’t the only fighter facing a lengthy time away from fighting though. Rising starlet Sage Northcutt impressed by showing incredible heart to fight through a nasty armbar attempt from Enrique Marin and get the unanimous decision win. However, he could be out until 2017, pending the results of an x-ray on his elbow.
Travis Browne is in the same boat following his first-round TKO loss to Cain Velasquez. He’ll need his wrist cleared by a doctor or he’ll face being out of action until next year.
Diego Sanchez and Rafael Assuncao who lost their fights to Joe Lauzon and TJ Dillashaw respectively, are also staring down the barrel of a potential 185-day suspension.

- Miesha Tate: Must have broken nose cleared by doctor or no contest for 185 days; minimum suspension 60 days with no contact for 45 days
- Mark Hunt: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
- Anderson Silva: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
- Frankie Edgar: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to facial laceration
- Travis Browne: Must have right wrist cleared by doctor or no contest for 185 days; minimum suspension 45 days with no contact for 30 days
- Raphael Assuncao: Must have nose x-rayed and cleared by a doctor or no contest for 185 days
- Enrique Marin: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
- Sage Northcutt: Must have left elbow x-rayed or no contest for 185 days; minimum suspension 45 days with no contact for 30 days
- Diego Sanchez: Must have right orbital and nasal fractures cleared by doctor or no contest for 185 days; minimum suspension 45 days with no contact for 30 days
- Thiago “Marreta” Santos: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
- Takanori Gomi: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
It’s important to note that these return dates aren’t set in stone. Fighters often return to action much sooner once they receive clearance from a doctor. A lot of the time, albeit not always, the lengthy suspensions are just precautionary measures.
