The UFC will land in Brazil for the first time this year at UFC 198 on May 14, and the impressive final line-up has been confirmed.
As you would expect, the promotion’s first ever event in Curitiba showcases the best of South American talent, with heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum headlining in his home country.
Werdum will take on challenger Stipe Miocic of the United States, who has a 14-2 career record and has tasted victory in Brazil before with his triumph in The Ultimate Fighter.
Also on the main card is an all-Brazilian middleweight fight between Vitor Belfort and Ronaldo Souza, while local favourites Anderson Silva and Cris Cyborg will also travel to Parana for fights of their own.
The bout against Jamaica’s Uriah Hall will be 41-year-old Silva’s first since his loss to Michael Bisping at UFC London.
Cyborg, meanwhile, faces a catchweight bout with American fighter Leslie Smith as she makes her UFC debut in her hometown.
The 30-year-old, who has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Ronda Rousey in the past, has not tasted defeat in more than a decade.
