Ho, ho, how d’ya like me now?
Conor McGregor’s latest UFC outing may have been his best yet.
The Notorious dominated lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez from the get-go, rarely looked in trouble and finished the fight with a stunning four-punch combo.
He told reporters after his victory that he may step back from the sport for the next while but it would be no surprise to see him on at least two fight cards in 2017.
UFC president Dana White was asked about McGregor’s next move and it seems as if the Dubliner will be getting whatever fight he wants. White told ESPN:
“I’m going to let this guy… this ain’t hype, this is real, man. People talked about the chink in his armour was wrestling and when he meets a guy who can wrestle he is in big trouble. There was not one take-down tonight. He defended everything.
“Eddie Alvarez was saying Santa Claus isn’t real. Santa Claus is back. The guy is special. What next? We’ll let him enjoy this moment. We’ll enjoy this moment and then we’ll talk business.”
We would to be in the room when McGregor finally gets down to business.
