Most people wouldn’t think to compare Conor McGregor to Dada 5000, but Dominick Cruz isn’t most people.
The ever-insightful UFC bantamweight champion was speaking ahead of his title defence against Urijah Faber at UFC 199 when he was asked for his thoughts on the recent Bellator contest between Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 which left the loser technically dead for a short time.
But rather than dismiss the fight entirely as a joke, Cruz admitted he could see the appeal of seeing two men who just “don’t give a f**k” going at each other”.
After all, he says, that’s just what Conor McGregor’s fight with Nate Diaz was.
The only difference is that McGregor and Diaz are two highly-skilled athletes on the top of their game, while the Bellator pair were clearly not in shape to fight.

In fact, Dada 5000 came out this week with the revelation that he had kidney failure, two heart attacks and actually died for a while during his loss to Slice.
Cruz believes McGregor wants to fight at 170 lbs again as he is not keen to fight leading featherweight contender at UFC 200. A defeat to ‘The Answer’ at that weight would leave the Dubliner with ‘no excuses’, according to Cruz.
