Here’s how much Dana White expects Conor McGregor to make from Floyd Mayweather super-fight

Mayweather to make more

It’s getting closer.

Conor McGregor’s son is due any day now and ‘The Notorious’ will then be looking to return to action, with his first fight back expected to come opposite Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring.

McGregor has hardly mentioned any of his potential challengers in the UFC during his break from competition, as he has remained solely focused on the most lucrative bout on the table.

McGregor vs. Mayweather will almost certainly take place, simply due to the fact that there is so much money to be made by pitting the greatest boxer of his generation against the biggest draw in all of combat sports.

Both men are seemingly keen on the match-up, which would be McGregor’s first professional boxing outing.

Mayweather has insisted that McGregor is the only opponent for whom he would come out of retirement while the Irishman would understandably prefer the payday that accompanies the Mayweather fight over any potential clash in the Octagon.

The 49-0 boxing great’s uncle, Jeff Mayweather, recently claimed that the UFC was insisting upon an absurdly lopsided cut of any fight purse McGregor would earn for the fight which was reportedly acting as a stumbling block in negotiations, an assertion that was wholly rejected by UFC president Dana White.

White has since offered his opinion on how much he expects both men to earn from the super-fight.

“It depends on how much the fight sells. And if the fight sells as well as I think it can, Floyd makes a little north of $100 (million) and Conor makes $75 (million),” White told The Herd with Colin Cowherd (via MMA Fighting).

“He (Mayweather) feels like he’s the A-side and he should get more of it. We haven’t really gotten into that negotiation yet. I wanted to get McGregor locked in first, because McGregor is under contract with me. And at the end of the day, does this fight make a ton of sense for me? It really doesn’t.

“But Conor wants this thing really bad and I’ve said it many times, the kid’s stepped up and saved some big fights for me, man, so I’m in. I’ll figure it out.”

In terms of how White plans on carrying out negotiations with both fighters, he is eyeing a meeting with his most reliable cash-cow in the coming days before he gets to work on Mayweather.

“I think we get the McGregor side in the next couple of days,” White added. “And then I go lock myself in a room for a couple days with Team Mayweather and see what we can come out with.”
